Senior school

The senior phase of learning at Redlynch State College provides students with a supportive learning environment designed to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to begin their journey tow​​​​​​​​​​​ards successful pathways to industry, further education and employment. Year 10 provides the foundation for years 11 and 12 where subjects comprising of Authority, Authority Registered and Vocational subjects make up the curriculum. Students can focus exclusively upon tertiary entrance, an Overall Position (OP) score or they may choose to explore and negotiate a range of learning options tailored to individual needs.

In Years 11 and 12 students at Redlynch State College will have a wide range of options available to them as they complete the requirements needed to gain the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). These options include a:

  • Full Academic Program - where students concentrate on Authority subjects (OP subjects)
  • Mixed Academic School Program- where students concentrate on a combination of either Authority subjects (OP subjects) and Authority Registered subjects (non OP subjects) or Vocational subjects
  • Full Vocational Program where students are enrolled in School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships – and participate in a combination of TAFE studies, on-the-job training and either OP or non OP subjects.

Accounting, Ancient History, Biology, Business Communication and Technologies, Chemistry, Dance, Drama, English, Film Television and New Media, Geography, Graphics, Health, Home Economics, Information Technology Systems, Japanese, Legal Studies, Maths A, Maths B, Maths C, Modern History, Music, Physical Education, Physics, Technology Studies, Science 21 and Visual Art.

Authority Registered subjects

English Communication, Marine and Aquatic Practices, Recreational Studies, Prevocational Maths, Visual Art Studies and Engineering Studies

Vocational subjects

Certificate II in Hospitality, Certificate II Information Digital Media and Technology, Certificate I in Furnishing, Cert I in Manufacturing Pathways, Certificate II Tourism, Certificate II and III in Live Production, Theatre and Events, Certificate II in Outdoor Education and Certificate III in Fitness (Binnacle RTO).
