Ongoing communication between school and home plays an important role in your child’s education. We encourage you to be involved and to regularly speak with teachers about your child’s progress. It is important to notify us if you have a concern or if you believe your child is experiencing a problem. Some ways of communicating are:

  • Parent/Teacher meetings - you are welcome to discuss your child’s progress with the teachers concerned.  Please organise a convenient meeting time.  Teachers are unable to meet with you while they are responsible for supervising other students.

  • Parent Information Sessions - at the beginning of each year Year levels may hold an information session to inform all parents of classroom procedures and the expectations of your child’s teacher.  Alternatively, this information will be given during 3 way conferences. We value partnerships with our parents and encourage genuine and meaningful communication.

  • Parent/Teacher/Child (3 way conferences) - are arranged for the beginning of Terms one and three.

  • Parent/Deputy Principal, Head of Campus, Executive Principal meetings - parents are welcome to discuss their child’s progress with members of administration. Please email principal@redlynchsc.eq.edu.au to book an appointment.

  • Home/School communication - each teacher has a system to facilitate communication between school and home. E.g. email, Class Dojo, SeeSaw.  Years 4 -12 students  have a student diary to facilitate this communication. Please ensure your email address is kept up to date.

  • Messages - contact with the school can always be made by phone or letter.  Letters that contain sensitive information should be sealed and addressed to the intended reader. Phone messages for students will be relayed during lunch breaks We encourage parents to communicate with teachers via email.

  • Newsletters - the College has a monthly newsletter that is issued via email. This contains all relevant information on upcoming events. It also showcases what the students have been involved in for the previous month.

  • Webpage – The school website provides a range of information that will answer some of the questions you may have about the school, curriculum, student welfare, the P&C and school events.

  • QParents – A web and mobile application that provides a convenient way for parents to interact with their child’s school.  Parents have secure, online access to student information and manage their student information including: class attendance, notifying of absence, report cards, timetables, viewing and paying invoices and updating student details (including medical conditions). Parents need to receive an invitation email from the College Business Manager – Enrolments in order to register for the app. Visit QParents for more information.
