Program Available to International Students
Redlynch State College has a personalised international study program that welcomes students from Education Queensland International ISP Study Abroad ( year 8 – 12) and, ISP Graduate ( Prep – Year 12) to integrate with local students through a wide range of experiential subjects in our fantastic local region.
Reef & Marine Experiences
Diving Program (offered each term)
Students can experience the Great Barrier Reef through:
- PADI Open Water Course – become a certified diver
- Advanced Dive Course
- Recreational diving (for qualified students).
This is highly sought after experience that gives students the opportunity to learn to dive on a UNESCO World Heritage listed reef. This cost is not included in the EQI fees.
School-Based Excursions (one per term)
Each semester, we organise excursions to unique locations that showcase our amazing tropical environment and wildlife in Tropical North Queensland. Destinations may include:
- Kuranda & Barron Falls
- Hartley's Crocodile Park
- Port Douglas village & Beach
- Cairns Aquarium
- Crystal Cascades
Island Excursion (each Semester)
Students participate in a dedicated island day each Semester, visiting locations such as:
- Green Island
- Fitzroy Island

Year 9 & 10 Outdoor Recreation Subject Highlights
Students have the opportunity to be challenged while learning mountain biking , snorkelling, climbing, white water rescue technique, hiking, and camping through World Heritage Listed rainforest locations such as Walsh's Pyramid Mountain, & Crystal Cascades

Year 11 & 12 Marine Science Subject / Aquatics Subject Highlights
Students study marine environments and the consequences of human influences on ocean resources. Oceanography, Biology and Ecology, including current scientific issues, with hands on practical applications. Students will go fishing, and learn to make lures, travel to the Great Barrier Reef and/ or islands to study marine ecosystems.
Year 4 - 12 Dance Excellence
Successfully auditioned students train with qualified dance teachers to perform in Dance Troupes, representing our school at Regional Eisteddfod competitions, & school performance events. This is a available to International students studying from the start of Term 1, for 3 terms or more.

Successfully auditioned students with exception talent in music, gain valuable connections to industry professionals, both locally and nationally, providing clear pathways to pursue careers in music.

- School of Excellence Dance - for year 4 - 12 students starting in Term 1 & studying 1 year or more

- Football Engagement – rugby, AFL, touch football, soccer – successfully auditioned students gain an opportunity to engage with experts in the industry and participate in sessions to improve their football abilities, working through elements of skill acquisition and technical and social development.

Embracing Homestay Families
We recruit welcoming local families to host EQI Study Abroad students. We assess applications and match students to ideal homestays based on the information students provide to us. We have an experienced network of families who provide safe enjoyable accommodation and create life long friendships with their International students.
