The Australian Curriculum: Science has three interrelated strands: Science Understanding, Science as a Human Endeavour and Science Inquiry Skills. Enrichment Science is offered as an elective subject in years 8-10. Students with a keen interest in science have the opportunity to explore further content and complete a comprehensive practical course.
The Senior Science Subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science 21 and Marine and Aquatic Practices provide a pathway for students into University courses and science careers. Students completing Marine and Aquatic Practices have the opportunity to gain a first aid certificate and complete the theoretical component of their boat license. All other senior science subjects contribute to the OP of students completing year 12.
