Media Arts
In Media Arts, communication, storytelling and persuasion are used to connect audiences, purposes and ideas and knowledge learned in the subject will be applicable throughout school and beyond. Working creatively in groups, students learn how to break a scene into its component shots, construct a storyboard use camera equipment and exercise safe practices for filming. Students apply concepts from the 4 Components of Film (cinematography, miese en scene, sound and editing), camera shot sizes, camera angles, camera movement, as well as use colour, settings and costumes in their works.
Redlynch State College’s Media Arts students learn to use industry standard editing tools, such as Adobe Premiere on our school-based desk top computers to edit and distribute their films as well as contemporary production technologies, like DSLR cameras, lighting and green screens.
Visual Arts
Visual Arts is a powerful and persuasive means which students use to make images and objects, communicating aesthetic meaning and understanding from various
perspectives. Increasing communication technologies means students need to have a knowledge and understanding of how meanings are constructed.
Visual Arts prepares our students for a future in the workforce requiring them to seek creative solutions to design problems, think divergently and use higher order
thinking learning skills to articulate an informed and individualised style/expression.
Redlynch State College’s Visual Arts offers a range of diverse and challenging programs building from the foundation of drawing into more complex concepts and processes. Our focus is on traditional art forms such as drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics and assemblage, while integrating contemporary practices
and technology to explore concepts a
nd focus areas.
