Goals of the program
To extend students who have been identified as gifted or talented in
t
he area
of Physical Education and Sport
To provide real and viable pathways for Junior Secondary Students,
connecting them to senior programs (e.g. PE and Certificate III F
itness) and post-school opportunities
To utilise the expertise in the local sport and health community to develop student outcomes.
Outcomes for students
Learning opportunities which extend and accelerate students beyond the HPE classroom and curriculum due to increased support through mentoring, training and education from nationally accredited and industry experienced coaches
Exposure to community facilities and coaches
Real life skills’ in the athletic arena i.e. officiating, coaching and fitness program development
Highly confident and skilled athletes with the ability to transfer skills and knowledge from one physical activity to another.
Eligibility Criteria:
Available to students Year 8 - 10
Applicants must be enrolled as a student at Redlynch

hysical activity that targets specific

tness components, complimented

y the exploration of a relevant

heoretical topic
Students participate in a range of net and court, striking
and fielding and invasion games that develop fundamental
skills that athletes can transfer to their own sport to
enha
nce performance.
