What is R.A.C.E. Dance?
R.A.C.E. Dance is an extension program for students in Years 7 - 12. The program offers students the opportunity to extend and enhance dance skills with
like-minded peers at an accelerated pace. Students will be involved in a specialised program which provides a range of extra-curricular opportunities for performances. The R.A.C.E. Dance program allows students to express themselves in a safe, fun and practical environment, which leads to self- development of a highly confident, highly skilled dance student.

The program also provides students with real and viable pathways connecting students to the Performing Arts industry both at a local and national level.

Who can take part?
R.A.C.E. Students who have been identified as gifted and talented in the application and audition process. R.A.C.E. Dance students must also select classroom Dance as an elective subject.

What does the course look like?
Students refine and strengthen their dance technique with  weekly classes from the International Dance Technique Syllabus, as well as explore new methods of styles through an early intensive full day dance workshop with their R.A.C.E. Dance teacher or industry professional. Students will develop dance routines that will be performed in numerous dance festivals and competitions. The year reaches its climax with the annual Showcase performance where troupes perform their routines as well as other large-scale pieces of choreography, all on the main stage of a quality venue.
